4th of July

Every 4th of July our neighbors host a huge Children's Parade and it gets bigger and better every year. All the kids decorate there bikes, scooters, ride-ons and ride around our block. Last year and this year I decorated our ride-on car like this. Clara wanted to drive it this year.

Here they all are ready to begin. It starts and ends right on our street a couple houses down from ours. After the parade our neighbors provide hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and otter pops, and everyone else brings a side dish or a dessert. It is so much fun.

This year a fire truck led the way sirens and all.

There were about 300 people there according to our neighbors by counting how many hamburgers and hot dogs were eaten. This is the starting line.

There's Reid.

There's Clara.

And there off. I started walking with Clara and then had to catch up with Alvin because he was driving his ATV and not looking where he was going and he just about took out another kid.

Here he is looking the wrong way.

At the end of the parade the fire engine raised it's ladder with the hose at the top and sprayed down the entire street. The kids were in heaven.

Alvin and Clara got to sit on the fire truck. Reid was no where to be found doing all of the activities.

Here are some little video's of the parade and the fire truck spraying the kids. Notice the bag pipes in the parade.

That looks so fun. What a great tradition. I wonder if I could start a parade in my neck of the woods. I cannot believe Alvin drove the ATV by himself. Max couldn't do that at this age! I love Clara's car.
