Clara's School Play

Clara had a Christmas Play about a gingerbread man.  I have been surprised by Clara this year because she has really come out of her shell.  Looking back on some old videos of her school plays she would never sing along or do any actions and this year she does it all.   She tells me all sorts of things she will say in class and to her teacher which surprise me because she use to be so shy.  She is very silly too.  If you know me as a young one you would know that I liked to make a fool out of myself to make others laugh and I am starting to see that trait in Clara.  She has all sorts of funny voices she makes up and faces.  She is hilarious.  I can't wait to teach her the "6 man attack":)

Live Nativity

We have been going to the Draper live nativity for the last 2 years so this year we decided to do something different.  This year we went to one in Alpine.  It was really neat and fun to do to get the kids thinking about the real meaning of Christmas. 

Here we are with the real camels.  It was soooo cold. 

You walk through a big barn that they made look like a little market place in Bethlehem.  And then you go into a different barn where Mary and Joseph are with the baby Jesus.  It helps you to imagine what it might have been like.

I made a few things this year to add to my Christmas decor.  I sure wish I had more time because I would love to do more.  Now that pinterest is so big there are so many great ideas.  Here above my cheveron painting I made a christmas garland to hang from it. And then I made this fabric Christmas tree frame. 

Here is a frame I made with a tree in it and I made a couple of these for aunts and mother-in-law.  Very easy and inexpensive. 

This year for neighbors I gave out these wooden letters that I modge podged with Christmasy paper.  So easy and everyone looooved it.  Each family got the letter of their last name. 

Halloween 2011

Alice and wonderland theme for Halloween.  Clara was the Queen of Hearts and we were all the cards.  I made all the costumes and it was so much fun.  I love making costumes so I can be really creative.  Clara's costume was the best. 

I usually have a hard time getting all of my boys to go along with my theme but this year they all agreed especially since they got to hold a staff/sword.  Alvin was so excited to be a "bad guy"

Oct. and Reid's birthday

Here we are and the Draper Halloween festival.  There were all sorts of carnival games and of course candy.

This year we had Reid's Birthday party at Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point.  The kids just love that place.  And it is only open during Oct. so it is perfect that Reid's birthday is in Oct.  Reid is such a special boy.  He is the best brother and friend.  Whenever I listen to him playing with his friends I never hear him say anything mean or rude.  He is very easy to get along with.  He has so many fun ideas to play with his friends.  He comes up with so many different activities to do.  He creates so many cool things with his toys.  He is also very responsible.  He wants to do what is right.  We love him so much.  He turned 9 this year.  What a big boy!

Here we are at Gardner Village.  I love this place.  It has such a fun feel.  My kids love it too especially because every time we go they think they get to get candy and the candy shop.  No wonder they like it. 

We often go to chick-fil-a on wed. nights when kids eat free.  And if you go right before a holiday they have a face painter there.  My kids love it.  Alvin always picks the full face designs and Reid and Clara usually just get something on their cheeks.  This was a funny one Alvin picked. 

More projects and Dean!

Dean at 5 months.  The kids like to play games with him.  Here they built him a fort arounf his bumbo chair.  What a lucky boy.

Skirt and dresses I made for my nieces.  The dress has a detatchable sash. 

Pants I made to go with one of the dresses for my niece for christmas the dress is for her birthday.  I am experimenting with different ruffles.  I thought these turned our cute. 

Clara at the jog-a-thon.  I don't know why , but i didn't have a picture of Reid. Maybe he was just too fast. haha!

Fall 2011

David's Parents came to visit again during Oct. Here is dean at 6 months. 

Alvin loves Daddy's shoulders. 

My kids' favorite thing to do with there "Jido"(Lebanese for grandpa) is play with a ball down in the basement.  They do it every time he comes in town and never tire of it.   

Dean loves the excersaucer.  So much nicer to be able to use these things. 

Here is Reid with another one of his Nerf guns and his vest he just had to have for his birthday.  he has it filled with ammo and maybe another gun.  and to think David said he would never buy his kid a fake gun before we had kids.  look at him now:)
