Draper Parade

Every year in July there are tons of things to do in Utah.  Fun things going on every weekend.  One of the fun weekends is the Draper Days Parade.  It reminds me of when I was a kid and went to the Kamas, Ut parade where my dad grew up and they had all sorts of homemade floats, pooper scoopers, and they throw candy.  The kids are in heaven. Other fun weekends in July are the 4th of July, Our neighborhood garage sale, 24th of July activities.  It is a crazy month, but tons of fun.
Alvin caught a frisbee that was trown at us.

4th of July

Every 4th of July our neighbors host a huge Children's Parade and it gets bigger and better every year. All the kids decorate there bikes, scooters, ride-ons and ride around our block. Last year and this year I decorated our ride-on car like this. Clara wanted to drive it this year.

Here they all are ready to begin. It starts and ends right on our street a couple houses down from ours. After the parade our neighbors provide hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and otter pops, and everyone else brings a side dish or a dessert. It is so much fun.

This year a fire truck led the way sirens and all.

There were about 300 people there according to our neighbors by counting how many hamburgers and hot dogs were eaten. This is the starting line.

There's Reid.

There's Clara.

And there off. I started walking with Clara and then had to catch up with Alvin because he was driving his ATV and not looking where he was going and he just about took out another kid.

Here he is looking the wrong way.

At the end of the parade the fire engine raised it's ladder with the hose at the top and sprayed down the entire street. The kids were in heaven.

Alvin and Clara got to sit on the fire truck. Reid was no where to be found doing all of the activities.

Here are some little video's of the parade and the fire truck spraying the kids. Notice the bag pipes in the parade.

Dean Dean the Dancin Machine

Skirt I made for my neighbors daughter in trade for her cake baking skills.

Here is Dean at 7 weeks. We all call him "Dean, Dean the dancin machine". I try not to say it out loud, but I will have to say he is a pretty fussy baby. I still can't say I have ever had an angel baby and I guess I won't ever say it since this is my last baby. I guess I was made to take care of fussy babies. I don't feel like I was made to take care of these little fussy guys. I don't do it very well. I keep trying different things with each baby thinking I did it all wrong last time and this time I will make them an angel baby, but still they are fussy. I am still trying with this little guy. He is a cute little guy fussy or not. Wish me luck.

My House

I am finally posting pictures of my house. I finally feel like the decorating I have slowly been doing is coming together. I still have some other things I will need to swap out and add but it looks pretty good for now. This is the view when you walk into the front door.

This is in the entry way. I made the cushion for the chair and I painted this ikea frame turquoise (it use to be black)

I painted this canvas myself with a lot of painters tape and time:) It took a long time. Way more than I wanted to spend, but I love the result. These green glass bowls were handed down to David by his grandparents. I love them and that they have sentimental value.

This is our entryway. You can see the windows from the loft upstairs. I really liked this part the house. It adds a fun look.

View of our staircase.

Gallery wall up my stairs. I mod podged the wooden letter H with turquoise lattice paper and I painted the ampersand sign on canvas.

Family room.

Kitchen/ dining room. I wanted this chandelier for a long time and David surprised me with it for Christmas. David isn't the best at surprise gifts so it made it even more special.

This is our old coffee table that I painted and then distressed and then glazed. I can't find the perfect coffee table yet so I thought painting my old one until I find one worked great. I made the pillows for the couch. It is so hard to find the right color for pillows so it is such an easy thing to make and then you can get them exactly how you want them.

Entertainment center. This is a really neat piece from restoration hardware. It was the perfect size and color for our house. It looks a lot better in person. It really stands out.
